Privacy Policy
Last updated July 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Thesient("we," "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the ThesientiOS app and website (the "Service").
Investment thoughts are sensitive. We use them first to deliver the Service to you. We may also use de-identified or aggregated patterns derived from usage — such as theme and sentiment signals — to improve the product and, in the future, to offer analysis to research or institutional customers. We do not sell your account identity as a marketing lead list.
1. Who we are
Thesient is operated by the founder of the Service. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@thesient.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect identifiers associated with your sign-in method. Today that may include Google OAuth profile details (such as name and email) and/or email and password credentials if you use email sign-in.
Captures you create
The core of the product is content you submit:
- Text captures you type
- Voice captures (audio recordings) and their transcripts produced by our transcription provider
- Timestamps and related metadata needed to store and process captures
Derived product data
To provide digests, predictions, entity maps, and the weekend premise loop, we generate and store derived data from your captures, including:
- Entities and mentions linked to your captures
- Daily and weekend digests
- Price predictions extracted from captures and their grades
- Load-bearing premises and their history
- Semantic memory and profile pattern documents used to personalize synthesis over time
- Embeddings used for similarity and retrieval
Usage and diagnostics
We may collect limited operational telemetry (for example function invocation and cost accounting metadata, error logs, and device-level diagnostics available through Apple TestFlight or App Store crash reports) to operate and improve the Service.
Website
If you request beta access or email us from the website, we receive the information you submit (such as email address, name, and any notes you include).
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Run AI pipelines that clean captures, extract entities and predictions, research entities, synthesize digests, and update memory documents
- Grade price predictions against market data
- Authenticate you and secure your account
- Respond to support and beta requests
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms
- Produce de-identified or aggregated insights (for example theme, sentiment, or market-pattern analysis) that may be used internally or offered to research and institutional customers
We do not sell your name, email, or other account identifiers as a contact list. Raw captures remain tied to your account for product delivery; external insight products, if offered, are based on aggregated or de-identified signals rather than publishing your personal theses under your identity. We do not use your captures to train third-party foundation models for unrelated public use, beyond what a processor may do under its own terms when providing inference as a service to us.
4. Processors and service providers
We use third-party processors to operate the Service. Depending on features in use, that may include:
- Supabase — authentication, database, storage, and edge functions
- OpenAI — embeddings and agentic web research used in digest pipelines
- Fireworks (GLM) — model inference for synthesis and reasoning
- ElevenLabs — voice transcription (Scribe)
- Marketstack — end-of-day market quotes for grading price predictions
- Google — if you sign in with Google
- Apple — App Store / TestFlight distribution and related platform services
- Vercel — hosting for this website
These providers process data on our behalf under their terms and security practices. Some processing may occur outside your country of residence.
5. Microphone and audio
If you use voice capture, the app requests microphone access. Audio is uploaded to our backend for transcription and then processed as a capture. You can deny microphone permission; text capture remains available.
6. Retention
We retain account data, captures, and derived artifacts for as long as your account remains active so the memory layer can function. Operational logs may be retained for a shorter period needed for security, billing, and debugging.
7. Your choices and deletion
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@thesient.com. Apple requires account deletion for apps that create accounts; when available in-app, use Settings to delete your account, or contact support. Deletion removes your user-owned content and associated derived data from our production systems, subject to residual backups and legal retention requirements.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to a cloud-hosted app (including access controls, encrypted transport, and row-level security on user data in our database). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. International users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, you understand your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our processors operate.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes for registered users may also be communicated in-app or by email when appropriate.
